  • The county's Republican Central Committee is scheduled to meet today, a date set well before Workman was charged. The mayor's legal troubles and campaign are not on the agenda, but "I think people will be talking about it," county party chairwoman Tiani Coleman said.

  • On Doug Wright's KSL radio talk show Friday, District Attorney David Yocom explained why he did not charge former mayor's counsel Greg Curtis after it was found he was "double-dipping" state and county car expense reimbursement. Curtis is also majority leader in the state House of Representatives.

Yocom said Curtis was acting under Workman's direction and said Dayton, as the deputy mayor, went to the Capitol, took Curtis' car, filled it with gas, washed it and returned it. Turns out that Dayton, who was at the Capitol on county business, occasionally took Curtis' county car for meetings and the like away from the Capitol because Curtis had a closer parking spot.

"It's all county business," Dayton said.
