TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is set to buy the Candleridge Golf Course, but church officials won't confirm whether the land will be used to build a fourth LDS temple in Idaho.

Still, Twin Falls LDS Stake President Dr. Brad Hobbs said having a temple in Twin Falls would be great for the area's LDS faithful.

"We'd love to have one," he said. "I'm sure the church has certain criteria (for building them). It's decided by the First Presidency if there is going to be an announcement. Once things are decided, I'm sure they'll let us know."

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints currently has two temples in Idaho — Boise and Idaho Falls. Plans for a third temple in Rexburg, home of Brigham Young University-Idaho, are already under way.
