PROVO Brigham Young University President Cecil O. Samuelson and his wife, Sharon, will speak at a campus devotional at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday in the Marriott Center.
Live broadcasts of the devotional will be on KBYU-TV (Channel 11), the BYU-Television and BYU-Radio satellite networks, KBYU-FM (89.1) and at byubroadcasting.org.
Samuelson will officially welcome the students back for a new academic year. He was installed as BYU's 12th president on Sept. 9, 2003. Prior to becoming president of BYU, Samuelson served as member of the Presidency of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Professionally, Samuelson has served as the senior vice president of Intermountain Health Care and dean of the School of Medicine at the University of Utah.
