Sheri Dew does not represent the LDS Church any more than Orrin Hatch, Mitt Romney or any number of high profile LDS members.
Does membership in the LDS Church forbid us from participating in the political process? By all means, no. Sheri Dew represented herself, and all other God-fearing men and women, as she gave the opening prayer at that convention. I applaud her.
