Utah State University's Department of Art will begin its annual Visiting Artist Program with art historian James Elkins, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Eccles Conference Center, Room 216. Elkins will lecture on "Why Art Historians (and Critics) Should Learn to Draw." Following the lecture, Elkins will meet with students. For more information call 435-797-7373.
The Salt Lake Art Center, 20 S. West Temple, will host another Art Talk on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Guest lecturer will be Peter Held, Curator of Ceramics, Ceramic Research Center, Arizona State University Museum. Held will discuss the art of contemporary ceramics. For more information call 328-4201.
