Republican convention (4 p.m., FNC, MSNBC; 5 p.m., CNBC, C-SPAN; 6 p.m., Ch. 7, CNN; 8 p.m., Channels 2, 4 and 5): Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife, Lynn, are scheduled to speak.

Latin Grammy Awards (6 p.m., Ch. 2): Because of convention coverage, this telecast will be seen early — and live — here in Utah. Which means we don't get to see the Emmys live. And we don't get to see the regular Grammys live. But we get to see the Latin Grammys live. Hmmmm . . . .

Hawaii (7 p.m., Ch. 5): See related story.

Renovate My Family (7 p.m., Ch. 13): Well, now Fox is ripping off "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" in particular and lots of other makeover shows in general with this "new" reality series in which a family gets all sorts of do-overs and advice.

Amish in the City (7 p.m., Ch. 24): Amid roommate rivalries, Jonas takes his GED exam.
