The fifth-annual Ute Fan Fest, sponsored by the Deseret Morning News, gets under way today at 11 a.m. at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Athletes and coaches from all of Utah's 19 varsity teams will participate in the event, which is free to the public.
Additionally, Deseret Morning News columnist Brad Rock, Utah football writer Dirk Facer and sports editor David Schneider will attend.
Three of Utah's teams football, soccer and volleyball are ranked in the top 25 in national preseason polls.
Fans can mingle with athletes, take pictures, collect autographs and enjoy free food and fun. Parking also is free.
The event runs till 2 p.m.
