UVSC appoints trustee to board

OREM — Gov. Olene Walker has appointed Janette Hales Beckham as the newest member on the Utah Valley State College Board of Trustees.

Beckham, who previously served as the general Young Women president for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will fill the term held by Karen Ashton, expected to expire June 30, 2007.

She is the eighth member of the board, excluding foundation president Tom Heal and student body president Jim Bassi. All board members serve a four-year term rotating June 30 of each odd-numbered year.
