Connie Reed (Readers' Forum, Aug. 19) was offended when Sen. Orrin Hatch called Teresa H. Kerry "crazy" and "nuts." I, for one, was elated. When Mrs. Kerry gave her speech and said the present administration was "un-American," I think the reporter/columnist had every right to ask for clarification on the statement.
She could have answered his question graciously instead of pointing her finger and dismissing him with her infamous utterance of "shove it."
Maybe instead of learning those five languages, she should have spent more time learning how to act like a lady in the public eye. Examples: Jacqueline Kennedy and Laura Bush.
Education is a wonderful thing. Too bad Teresa Heinz Kerry opted to skip charm school.
