It is unfortunate that Mayor Rocky Anderson has attacked the Deseret Morning News for questioning his recently announced liberal social agenda, his self-identified "Seven Freedoms." ("Editorial is personal attack, tells only a kernel of truth," Deseret Morning News, Aug. 15)
To disagree with the mayor is not divisive. What is divisive is to advocate programs that ignore or challenge the unique history and culture of our beloved city and reflect the values of the "blue" states while Salt Lake City is in a "red" state. I am grateful that the Deseret Morning News supports the unique traditions and family-oriented environment of our beloved city.
