I was both disappointed and offended when Sen. Hatch told a group that Teresa Heinz Kerry is "nuts" and "crazy." He also said President Bush is "one smart guy with a great mind."
I think I have sorted this out. It is clear that Sen. Hatch is dyslexic. No one with a straight face, not even his mother, describes the president as a smart guy. Teresa Heinz Kerry is an educated woman who speaks five languages, while our president can't manage one.
It seems we need a lot more "nuts and crazy" and a lot less "smart guy." While Teresa Heinz Kerry certainly speaks her mind, that does not make her nuts.
I wonder why Sen. Hatch and others think the wife of a candidate is fair game.
