Last week, when Nancy Workman held her first ever "open-door" session with citizens in the mayor's office, she said, "People want to talk about what's affecting them. 'To heck with your car what about me?' "
The interesting question is, if people are so unconcerned with current scandals, like "guzzler-gate," why try to divert attention by opening your doors to your constituents for the first time in 3 1/2 years?
Better yet, one constituent said he had tried "1,000 times" to get an appointment with the mayor and was alw
ays ignored. If people's problems were really a motivating factor, would Workman have waited until she needed "cover" from scandals to start opening her door?
