The Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge will be host to a public meeting on Aug. 26 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Emergency Services Building, located at 442 W. Forest Street in Brigham City.

Refuge staff is looking for comments regarding the refuge's hunting program with respect to changes over the past seven years.

The refuge has added some new regulations and removed some old ones. For example, the swan-only unit has been eliminated. Also, hunters may possess only 10 shells when hunting the 1A and 2C dikes, or within 50 feet of those dikes, no matter what species is being hunted.

Those who would like to express an opinion, but cannot attend, may call Richard Paine at 435-723-5887, extension 17.
