"Policy group tackles Utah radical politics," Deseret Morning News, July 19, labels anyone whose opinions and inclinations are not "mainstream" as radical or extremist. Mr. Mero's broad brush statement, "In its most simplistic form, an extremist is one who takes a position away from the mainstream view," labels anyone with the conviction of their beliefs or positions as an extremist.
One wonders, if Mr. Mero had been present at the Constitutional Convention, would he have labeled those great statesmen as radical extremists because they refused to go along with the "mainstream views" of the time? Thank the Lord those great men had the power of their convictions.
