Not to shatter any illusions, Mom and Dad, but they're seeing stuff worse than that wardrobe malfunction every day.
Maybe in Katzenberg's world this kind of stuff is appropriate for family viewing, but not in the rest of the world. "We have put these episodes in front of many audiences. . . . We put it in front of family audiences. And I think we have a pretty good sense of where the line is drawn, and we're not going to cross that line," he said.
Once you see this episode, you'll get a pretty good sense of where he and "Father of the Pride" are coming from.
They're not holding back because these are animated characters. As a matter of fact, writer/executive producer Jon Pollock told critics, "We've definitely discovered that you can push it farther" with animated characters.
So much for cute and cuddly.
How long do you think it will be before the "Father of the Pride" plush toys hit the stores?
And at 6 p.m., Ch. 2's local news will go up against Ch. 5's local news (currently the only local news in the time slot) and ABC News on Ch. 4.
Ch. 2 is trumpeting the news that 10 p.m. anchorwoman Michelle King will have a presence in the 6 p.m. show, although her appearances on the "Fresh Ideas" segments will be taped. Mark Koelbel and Shauna Lake will anchor the show, with Kevin Eubank doing weather and Dave Fox doing sports (just like the current 5:30 p.m. telecast).
Essentially, this looks like yet another move against Ch. 5, which Ch. 2 has been beating head-to-head at 5 p.m.
