Don't Amend Alliance is kicking off its Out Against Amendment 3 events today, with an evening of sushi, drinks and jazz at Circle Lounge.
This is the first of several such events leading up to the Nov. 2 election, which will serve as fund-raisers and gatherings for those opposed to a proposal to amend the Utah Constitution to ban gay marriages.
Those in favor of the amendment say it's necessary to protect the state's marriage law from court challenges.
Admission is a $5 donation at the door for the 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. event. The Circle Lounge is at 328 S. State St. Visit www.dontamendalliance.com or call 746-1314 for information.
