'Red' states not pampered

There are two Americas at this convention, but they're not the ones that John Edwards has been talking about. They have nothing to do with money or class or race. It comes down to location, location, location.

Delegates from battleground states — like Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania or Florida — have the finest hotels, the choicest convention seating, the hottest breakfast speakers. Those from the reddest of the red states — Alabama, say, or Idaho—find themselves exiled to the nosebleed seats. The poor Texas delegation is stuck out at the airport Hilton, on a street called, somewhat ominously, Terminal Road.
