Salt Lake-based Evans & Sutherland Computer Corp. said Tuesday that Emirates, a Dubai-based international airline, will acquire E&S visual systems for its three new simulators being installed at its Aviation College.
The purchase includes the new LaserWide projectors, the first sale of the new laser projector for civil aviation training.
The LaserWide projectors will be installed on two new A380 simulators and one new A340-600 simulator to be built, which will be used to train flight crews in preparation for Emirates' new fleet of aircraft. An existing B777 simulator, which was outfitted with an E&S product last year, also will be fitted with the LaserWide projector. The new simulators are all scheduled to be in training by mid-2006.
