The Alpine Arts Council presents the Alpine Summer Theater production of "The Sound of Music" at the American Fork Amphitheater through July 19 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee Saturday, July 17, at 4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling 361-7147.
"Artful Tales" with lectures and symposia take place in the Museum of Art auditorium on the BYU Provo campus at 7 and 8 p.m. Mondays. There is no charge. Call 422-8286 for more information.

The Brigham Young University Museum of Art on the Provo campus is featuring the exhibit "Metaphorically Speaking: Contemporary Religious Art." The exhibit will run through Jan. 8.
Come to the Provo City Library at Academy Square, 550 N. University Ave., at 7 p.m. for Tuesday night book excursions. Tonight is especially for teens. Share a book, listen to a funny story or play a game and get a bonus entry to the grand prize drawing.
July 14
"Reel Stories," short films produced by young Utah filmmakers in Sundance Institute and Spy Hop Productions' workshop program, will be featured in a special free screening at the auditorium at the Salt Lake City Library, 210 S. 400 East, at 6:30 p.m.
The annual street dance that has become a traditional part of the Springville World Folkfest starts at 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the Springville Museum of Art, 200 E. 400 South. The public is invited. Admission is free.
Thanksgiving Point in Lehi is offering a Farm Country camp on bugs, spiders and butterflies for 4- and 5-year-olds from 9 a.m. until noon and from 1-4 p.m. for $20. A snack is included.
