Intermountain Health Care has just named the first administrator of its upcoming Intermountain Medical Center in Murray. And for the first time the organization has named a woman head of LDS Hospital.
David Grauer, administrator of Cottonwood Hospital and The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital (TOSH), will be administrator of the 1.2-million-square-foot, five-hospital facility being constructed at 5300 South and State Street. It's slated to open in 2007.
Mikelle Moore, who has served as an operations officer in IHC's Urban Central Region since 2000, will become the 13th administrator the first woman in the post of LDS Hospital. Both take on their assignments immediately.
When the new hospital opens, LDS Hospital will become a community hospital and many of the highly specialized medical care programs, such as transplant programs, will move to the new campus.
Grauer and Moore will report to Richard Smith, the region's new chief operating officer.
In the past, Grauer spent three years as executive director of IHC Health Services to Business.
Moore joined the company in 1998 as an administrative fellow. Before that, she was a contract specialist in network management at an Arizona health plan.
