REXBURG, Idaho (AP) A toddler who nearly drowned after falling into a canal is still hospitalized, more than a month after the accident.
Logan Pinto, who turns 2 this month, was pronounced dead when resuscitation efforts appeared to fail after the near-drowning in May. A Madison Memorial Hospital worker was preparing his body for the funeral home when she noticed the child was breathing, and he was flown to Primary Children's Medical Center in Utah for treatment shortly after.
Colleen Clark, a spokeswoman for the Salt Lake hospital, said that Pinto was still in fair condition at the hospital.
His parents, Debra Sue and Joe Gould, said they were not sure when they would be able to take the boy home.
Pinto wandered away from a baby sitter May 27 and fell into a nearby canal. Police found him 30 minutes later.
