With the summer season barely under way, many Utah Shakespearean Festival patrons are already looking ahead to this fall and next summer.
The fall season, Sept. 23-Oct. 30, will have three productions running in repertory in the Randall L. Jones Theatre Noel Coward's "Blithe Spirit," directed by Paul Barnes; Shakespeare's "Macbeth," directed by J.R. Sullivan; and the regional premiere of the musical "The Spitfire Grill," directed by Brad Carroll.
Then there's the lineup planned for 2005. That summer's season (June 23-Sept. 5) will include the regional premiere of the highly acclaimed Broadway and West End comedy-drama, "Stones in His Pockets," by Marie Jones. It's a two-man show that has already been cast with David Ivers and Brian Vaughn.
And there'll be a non-Shakespeare drama outdoors: "Doctor Faustus," adapted by Howard Jensen from a script by one of Shakespeare's contemporaries, Christopher Marlowe.
Also on the 2005 docket are "Love's Labour's Lost" and "Romeo and Juliet" (sharing the outdoor stage with "Doctor Faustus"), and "Camelot" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream," along with "Stones in His Pockets" in the Randall.
Scheduled for fall 2005 (Sept. 22-Oct. 29) are Larry Shue's "The Foreigner," Stephen Schwartz and Roger O. Hirson's "Pippin" and Shakespeare's "All's Well That Ends Well."
