SALT LAKE CITY The Utah Jazz hired Tyrone Corbin as an assistant coach Thursday, reuniting him with the team he played for in three of his 16 NBA seasons.
Corbin, who spent last season as manager of player development with the New York Knicks, replaces Kenny Natt on coach Jerry Sloan's staff. Natt left the Jazz last month for a job with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Corbin played for Utah from 1991-94 under Sloan, who has coached the Jazz for 16 seasons.
"One of the things with this league is that there is a whole bunch of changes every year," Corbin said. "You look at the Utah Jazz organization, that has been solid for the last 15-20 years. They have a proven situation that works."
