County declines to vote on road tax

PROVO — The Utah County Commission — again — decided not to vote on a proposal to ask voters whether they want a quarter-cent transportation tax for road improvements.

The commission must decide if the tax proposal is placed on the November ballot. Revenue from the tax would be earmarked for road improvements.

More information still needs to be gathered before the commission can make a decision, said Utah County commissioner Steve White. The commission will revisit the issue during its July 13 meeting.
