After reading the article about the archaeological work being done on the Wilcox ranch in today's edition, I want to take this opportunity to recognize the contribution of Waldo Wilcox and his family to the state of Utah and the world. The Wilcox family could have easily been selling artifacts or allowing access to these incredible sites but chose instead to protect them.
The historical and archaeological value of the sites can't be overstated. We want to express our gratitude to Mr. Wilcox and his family for preserving them.
