PROVO The Provo City Council tentatively approved Wednesday a contract with the Video Internet Broadcasting Corp. (VIB TV) to provide services for the iProvo fiber-optic network.
Last month, the council unanimously awarded the company, based in Ephrata, Wash., the first right to negotiate a contract with the city, which plans to lease the telecommunications network to private companies that will in turn provide services to Provo businesses and residents.
The council is expected to formally ratify the contract later this summer following a legal review.
