Hard Rock Cafe will be serving "Elvis' Favorite Meal" from July 2 to Aug. 2. The restaurant chain credits Elvis' recording of "That's All Right," on July 5, 1954, at the Sun Studios in Memphis, Tenn., as the beginning of rock 'n' roll. Some of the King's favorite meals include pork chops with gravy, and apple pie and ice cream. On Monday, Hard Rock Cafes nationwide will play the video for "That's All Right" at 12:30 p.m. Radio stations around the country will also have a similar tribute to Elvis at that time. Downtown restaurants and the Peery Hotel are hosting a "Culinary Meets Capillary" blood drive on July 13 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the hotel., 300 South and West Temple.
The restaurants' work forces, customers, friends and families are invited to donate blood to ARUP Blood Services. All blood donations benefit patients at University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics, Primary Children's Medical Center, Shriners Hospital for Children and the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Olive Garden's Shrimp and Crab Ravioli is back. The seafood is stuffed in ravioli pasta and tossed in a creamy seafood sauce, topped with sauteed shrimp and garnished with sun-dried tomatoes. It was offered last year during a limited-time promotion and proved so popular that it's being added to the menu of all the chain's 534 restaurants in North America.
Olive Garden has also added a new pesto sauce to its signature Three Meat Ravioli.
