KAYSVILLE The Youth of Promise is sponsoring a statewide contest to find art and literature pieces to display permanently at the Sept. 11 Memorial Monument.
The monument is being built at the Utah State University Botanical Center in Kaysville to honor the soldiers from Utah killed in the war on terror.
The contest is open to all school-age youth. Entries should be sent by Sept. 1 to Youth of Promise, 715 E. 200 North, Kaysville, UT 84037.
Donations are also still being sought for the monument.
The contest seeks paintings, drawings and literature that shows students' feelings about America, Sept. 11, American heroes, patriotism, strength of America, the soldiers and their sacrifices for our country. Visual arts entries should not be larger than 24 by 30 inches and literature pieces should not exceed 500 words. An official entry form should accompany entries and can be obtained by e-mailing margiewahlstrom@yahoo.com. For information call Margaret at 801-546-2787 or 801-544-0747.
