St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City and San Juan Hospital in Monticello have been named among the nation's top 100 hospitals by Solucient.
The award recognizes hospitals that provide excellent care, operational efficiency, financial performance and adaptation to the environment.
The 11th edition of Solucient's Top 100 Hospitals: National Benchmarks for Success study appears in a supplement to the May 24 edition of Modern Healthcare magazine.
St. Mark's has been on the list as a top cardiovascular hospital for five years in a row, as well.
Solucient, which does independent data research, says if all acute care hospitals performed at the same level as the top hospitals, then 95,000 more Medicare patients could survive and an additional 77,000 patient stays could be complication-free each year. The savings would total $8.8 billion.
