The U.S. Mormon Battalion heritage group will hold its annual program on Saturday, June 12, at 7 p.m. in the Tabernacle on Temple Square.
The program will be a tribute to the men and women of the battalion and also of the ship Brooklyn. The Brooklyn sailed around Cape Horn to land in San Francisco while the Battalion produced one of the world's longest-ever military marches, blazing western trails along the way.
The Southern Utah Heritage Choir will present the event's music. Melissa Garff Ballard, D. Guy Dickson and Elder Robert C. Oaks of the LDS Quorums of the Seventy will supply narrative during the program.
The event is free and the public is invited. Information on the Mormon Battalion is available online at www.mormonbattalion.com.
