Jonathan Bernstein, regional director of the Anti-Defamation League, will present a program on "Global Anti-Semitism: The New Threat" at 7 p.m. Monday at the I.J. & Jeanne Wagner Jewish Community Center.
Bernstein will discuss a new global wave of anti-Semitism which mixes the old accusation of ritualized murder and worldwide conspiracy with new charges, such as the claim that Jews were responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Bernstein, who recently lobbied for hate-crimes legislation in Utah, oversees the investigation of allegations of discrimination or harassment, and monitors activities of hate groups and extremists. He has coordinated educational efforts to support tolerance and advance human rights cases.
For more information, contact Lavine Shapiro at 801-581-0098. The center is at 2 North Medical Drive in Salt Lake City.
