Tips from the pros
If you have a window that the sprinkler is always hitting, the protectant will work there as well.
Marilyn Albertson, family & consumer specialist, Salt Lake County, USU Extension: Read and follow all label directions. For example, not all cleaners kill germs only those that say they are disinfectants. And usually you can't just wipe them on and wipe them off. Some have to be left on for five minutes or more. The disinfecting power also doesn't last very long, so it is a good idea to clean again just prior to food preparation.
Some cleaners should not be mixed together. Some must be used in a well-ventilated area.
Cassie McElroy, professional cleaner with Merry Maids: My favorite cleaning tool is a fairly new product called a "Smop," a flat board with terry cloth around it and a long handle. It's nice for reaching high for windows and walls you can't otherwise reach. And it's great for wiping down inside showers; it works better than a squeegee.
