Art program for children is having growing pains

In just over a year, Kindred Spirits' enrollment has increased 300 percent. The studio, located at 974 E. 2100 South, is growing at such a tremendous rate the current studio space is no longer sufficient for its needs.

In order to keep it functioning, a fee of $160 per six-week session per family is charged (this covers all materials as well).

As many families have large medical expenses, Kindred Spirits is in the planning stages of developing scholarships and grants. However, the school's ability to help is contingent upon the assistance it receives from grants.

And because every parent in the program is wishing and waiting for a new treatment to help their child, Kindred Spirits donates a portion of the tuition collected to the Children's Neurobiological Solutions, an organization whose mission is promoting cutting-edge research to hasten effective treatments and therapies for children with neurological abnormalities.
