A father who allegedly left two young children at home to help the mother deliver another child at the hospital was charged Monday in 3rd District Court.
The man, 25, was charged with two counts of endangerment of a child, a third-degree felony; violation of a protective order, a class A misdemeanor; unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a class B misdemeanor; and two counts of child abuse, a class B misdemeanor.
Two children, ages 5 and 3, were home alone Thursday and went to a neighbor's while the parents were at the hospital. A Salt Lake City police officer checked the apartment where the family lived, near 400 South and 1200 East, to try to identify the parents. The officer found a razor blade, pipes, a butane torch and pornographic photographs accessible to the children, charges state.
