Sorenson Capital facts and figures

Assets and objectives: A $250 million leveraged buyout fund, the firm will buy and foster small to mid-size Western U.S. companies.

Anchor investor: James Lee Sorenson, Utah entrepreneur, who contributed $75 million of the total fund.

Managing partners: Include Fraser Bullock, Richard Lawson, Tim Layton, Ron Mika and Steve Young.

Boston link: Robert C. Gay, managing director of Boston-based Bain Capital, is a member of the fund's investment advisory committee.

Other investors: Include Adams Street Partners LLC, Wilshire Private Markets Group, Grove Street Advisors for CalPERS and the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co.

Management: The fund is managed and controlled by Salt Lake-based West Rim Capital.
