FARMINGTON National SAFE KIDS Week will be celebrated with an educational water safety fair Saturday at the Bountiful Recreation Center, 150 W. 600 North, from 1-3 p.m.
Parents and children can learn about water safety through interactive booths, games and informational pamphlets at the Davis County SAFE KIDS Coalition-sponsored fair. The fair has prizes, drawings and free swim passes while supplies last.
"While drowning death rates have declined, unintentional drowning is the leading killer of children aged 1-4 in Utah," said Lewis Garrett, Davis County Health Department director. "It's also the second-leading cause of unintentional injury death for children aged 1-14 in the United States."
