Utah

SOFTBALL: Utah dropped a doubleheader to Colorado State, 13-2 and 4-1, in Fort Collins, Colo., on Sunday. The Utes travel to Utah State for a single game Tuesday at 3 p.m.

BASEBALL: The last game of the Utah-UNLV baseball series was rained out Sunday. The game will be made up when the teams meet in Las Vegas later this season. The Utes play a doubleheader Tuesday at Utah Valley State College.

TRACK: Amanda Feigt, Nellie Hammons, Jen Jackman, Jennie Haertel, Susan Atwater and Katie Decker notched first-place finishes in their respective events Saturday as the Utah track and field teams competed in the Mark Faldmo Invitational at Utah State. Jackman took first in the 400, Feigt won the triple jump, Hammons won the 800, Haertel won the 1,500 and Decker won the high jump. Atwater, a freshman, tied for first in the pole vault. On the men's side, Nephi Tyler won the 1,500 for Utah.

TENNIS: The men's team wrapped up its season with a 5-2 win over Air Force. The women's team lost its final match of the season, 5-2, at Colorado State.

BYU

MEN'S TENNIS: The Cougars fell just short of clinching their fifth consecutive win as New Mexico defeated BYU 4-3 to claim the regular-season conference title.

Utah State

SOFTBALL: Candice Hatch went 2-for-3 at the plate with her first double of the season in the Aggies' 7-0 home loss to Cal State Northridge on Sunday. The loss drops USU to 7-32 overall and 3-6 in the Big West.

UVSC

TRACK & FIELD: The Wolverines sent athletes to four different meets, including three in California, over the weekend. They came home with four school records, one first-place finish and several personal bests.

Jason Baird continued to be solid as he took first in the triple jump with a leap of 49 feet, 5 inches, just shy of a school record. Amanda Olson set a school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:14.58.

Weber State

TRACK: Jerome Milner won two events for Weber State, and the school's track and field teams claimed 10 first-place finishes Saturday at the Mark Faldmo Invitational at Utah State. Milner won the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.70. He also won the 400 in a time of 47.19. Freshman Amy Cretsinger won the women's long jump with a jump of 17 feet, 10.75 inches.

Southern Utah

BASEBALL: Southern Utah came up short as Oakland University posted a pair of victories Sunday in Rochester, Mich. The Golden Grizzlies held off a late Thunderbird rally in taking the opener, 8-5, then completed the sweep in a slugfest, 17-15. SUU fell to 8-20 on the season, 2-6 in conference play.

SLCC

SOFTBALL: Salt Lake Community College took a pair of games from Snow College, 2-1 and 6-2, Saturday at Ephraim. Angela Garrard picked up three hits for Salt Lake in the second game. Salt Lake is now 31-13 overall and 21-9 in the SWAC.

BASEBALL: SLCC split a pair of games with Southern Idaho, losing 7-4 and rebounding with a 4-2 win. Salt Lake is now 23-17 overall and 15-13 in the SWAC.
