Lars Mouritsen, laboratory manager for Sorenson Genomics, will be the featured speaker at Friday's "technology@breakfast" meeting at the Alta Club.
The theme will be "Using Genetic Profiles to Create Breakthroughs in Ancestry Research."
Molecular genealogy can help link people to family trees by verifying genetic profiles. Attendees will learn about the partnership between Sorenson Genomics and the Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation and how this relatively new science creates breakthroughs in ancestry research.
The meeting is from 7:30 to 9 a.m. RSVPs can be completed at techalliance.utah.gov/rsvp.html. More information is available by contacting Annette Babisz at ababisz@utah.gov or by calling 1-801-538-8879.
The tech breakfasts are hosted by the Utah Technology Alliance and the Business Expansion and Retention program of the Utah Division of Business and Economic Development.
