The David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah has announced the 10 finalists for the 2004 Utah Entrepreneur Challenge, a statewide business plan competition.
The 2004 finalists are Lice Busters, a startup focused on technology for the treatment of head lice; BioLube, which specializes in the development/sales of non-toxic lubricants and maintenance services; Stroller Mate, an apparatus that allows a toddler to stand while being pushed on a stroller by an adult; Razaghi Development, which develops and leases health-care facilities to private, non-profit health care organizations in rural and frontier areas; Cinema Bistro, a Logan-based private movie theater and a full-service restaurant serving food and drink; The Mayan Tree, which markets and produces tropical food products; Tropi-Cool, which offers Latin-style ice cream and a variety of fresh fruit creations; Silent Whistle, which provides an anonymous reporting system to help companies detect fraud; T-Splines, which developed technology that simplifies the computer graphics process; and Banjo, which builds tools for information technology organizations.
Three finalists will be chosen to receive $100,000 in cash prizes and services. An awards banquet will be April 21 at the U.
