It's time to don those Easter bonnets.

The Gateway's third annual Easter Bonnet Parade is set for Saturday. Anyone without a seasonal topper can construct one at the shopping center's Olympic Legacy Plaza with free paper, ribbons, buttons and bows.

Prizes from Gateway merchants will be handed out for the most original and most festive creations in three age groups , after which the Davis High School Marching Band performs at 1:45 p.m.

The Easter Bunny will be busy, too, hiding eggs in locations throughout the valley:

• The Tracy Aviary hosts the city's largest Easter egg hunt Saturday, with more than 16,000 candy-stuffed eggs stashed for children ages 3 to 12 to find. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance, as well as Tracy the Toucan.

Admission to the aviary, located in the southwest corner of Liberty Park at 589 E. 1300 South, is $4. The egg hunts will be held at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for children aged 3 and under, and at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. for children ages 4-12.

• The Children's Museum of Utah will hold its third annual Easter egg hunt and party Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. A free egg hunt will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the north lawn of the museum located at 840 N. 300 West in Salt Lake City.

A variety of craft activities and games also are planned, including egg decorating. Parents can participate in a silent auction to benefit the museum, from noon until 3 p.m. The activities are included in the $4 admission fee for children and adults.

• In West Valley City, a free flashlight Easter egg hunt for 13-to-15-year olds will be held at 9 p.m. tonight in Centennial Park, 5405 W. 3100 South. On Saturday, eggs can be hunted again at the park at 8 a.m., this time by children from 2 to 12 years old.

• A Bible egg hunt is scheduled Saturday at 2 p.m. at the West Jordan City Park, 7885 S. 2200 West, for children ages 2 to 12. The "Bible bunny" will be there to pose for free photographs.

• On Easter Sunday, a free 6:53 a.m. sunrise service will be held at Snowbird on Hidden Peak. At 9 a.m., the ski resort will host a free children's Easter egg hunt on Chickadee Run and an on-mountain Easter egg hunt for adults.

Free tram rides are available to the sunrise service beginning at 5:15 a.m., with the last tram departing the Snowbird Center at 6:30 a.m. Complimentary coffee and hot chocolate will be served.
