- The Guardian (8 p.m., Ch. 2): The series, which hadn't been scheduled to return to CBS's schedule for another three weeks, is back with an original episode Nick (Simon Baker) defends a boy who claims he can't remember who sexually molested him. CBS made this switch because ratings for its new series "Century City" were atrocious and it has been dropped after airing four episodes. Which is good news for "The Guardian," making it a much stronger contender to return in the fall.
- Frasier (8 p.m., Ch. 5): Frasier is quite taken with his matchmaker (Laura Linney), but she's got a boyfriend.
- 24 (8 p.m., Ch. 13): This episode is absolutely huge: Michelle and a CTU team are inside the hotel where the deadly virus has been released; President Palmer may have to lie to protect his ex-wife (and himself); Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) finds out who's behind the plot (but not why), and he may have to kill one of his own. Whew! Fasten your seat belt!

- The Shield (11 p.m., FX): This is a great show, but it isn't easy to watch. And it definitely isn't for everyone. Witness last week's extremely violent confrontation between Shane and Tavon, which Vic (Michael Chiklis) has to deal with tonight. Also tonight, Aceveda finds himself the victim of a violent, unexpected assault so take FX's content warnings very seriously.
- 8 Simple Rules (7 p.m., Ch. 4): Cate can't find her daughters.
