PROVO — With arguably its best home football schedule including visits by Notre Dame and defending national champion Southern California, BYU's season-ticket renewal period and new-season ticket orders begin today.

"Based on the high degree of interest spurred by the 2004 schedule, it is very possible that LaVell Edwards Stadium will sell out with season tickets," men's athletics director Val Hale said. "If in fact season tickets do sell out, there will be no single-game tickets available for the USC and Notre Dame games."

Renewal information and season ticket applications were be sent to last year's season-ticket holders in late March. Seating priority for season tickets will be given to Cougar Club members and then to last year's season-ticket holders that renew before the April, 30 deadline.

Those who did not purchase season tickets last year may contact the Marriott Center Ticket Office at 378-BYU1 or 1-800-378-BYU1, or go online at www.byutickets.com, beginning Thursday, April 1 to place orders for season tickets. Actual seat locations will be allocated after Cougar Club members and last year's season ticket holders, based on the date orders are received.

Season ticket prices will not increase this season; however, if still available, single-game tickets will be higher for the Notre Dame and USC games if they are not sold out by the time they are scheduled to go on sale in late August.

Besides USC and Notre Dame, the Cougars will play host to Mountain West Conference peers UNLV, Wyoming, San Diego State and New Mexico.

SPRING SCRIMMAGE: The annual intrasquad football game and free tours of BYU's new athletic facilities will be available to the public on Saturday, April 10.

Beginning at 10 a.m., fans will be able to take guided tours of the new Student Athlete Building and Indoor Practice Facility, including stops in the football locker room, team meeting rooms, weight room, reception areas, Legacy Hall, Legacy Grill, training and rehab areas, as well as the Student Athlete Center.

Tours will conclude at 11:45 a.m. in time for fans to head over to Edwards Stadium for the Blue-White Scrimmage, which is scheduled to begin at noon.

"We have had a tremendous amount of interest in these buildings and we're excited to open them up for the fans,"Hale said. "This may be their only chance to see the new locker room and other areas of the building that are typically reserved for the athletes."

The annual Blue-White game is scheduled to kick off at noon in Edwards Stadium. Admission for the event will be $5 for adults, $3 for children, youths, senior citizens and students with a valid I.D. card. Fans can purchase advance general-admission tickets at the Marriott Center ticket office, or via phone at 378-BYU1 or 1-800-322-BYU1.

Following the scrimmage, tours of the new buildings will resume for an additional hour.

Beginning at 11 a.m., 5- to 12-year-olds will be able to participate in a free football clinic at Edwards Stadium. Members of the BYU football team will be on hand to teach fundamentals. The clinic will conclude at about 11:45 a.m.
