As a technology professional with a Ph.D. who has lost his job (and his career) because of the "leadership" of Rep. Chris Cannon in 2000, I take exception to the one-sided reporting in the Deseret Morning News article "Cannon targets his foes."

In 2000, Cannon rammed through the H-1B visa increase. He crows about it from his House of Representatives Web site. However, upon review of Cannon's 1996 financial disclosure, we find that he held an interest and/or was a corporate director of firms that benefit (via reduced salary and benefit expenditures) from the H-1B visa program. So, Cannon profits from his government position.

Cannon holds an unpopular view on immigration "reform." Bring in more immigrants to increase labor gluts, driving down labor costs for the economic elite. The immigrant workers and their families will also drive up the cost of many of the necessities of life for the middle class. It is time to "outsource" Chris Cannon and his ilk on Election Day. Your wallet will thank you.
