SALT LAKE CITY A woman was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly abducted a baby from LDS Hospital.
Disguised in hospital scrubs, the suspect entered a woman's room at the hospital and said she needed to take her newborn for awhile, said hospital spokesman Jess Gomez.
The woman left the hospital with the child, but was followed by hospital employees to a grocery store a block away, Gomez said. They confronted her inside the store and held her until police arrived.
The woman, whose identity was not released, is in police custody. The child was returned to the hospital unhurt, Gomez said.
