Vocalist Maynard James Keenan's other band will make a return engagement to Salt Lake City next week. The Tool vocalist's other band A Perfect Circle, which played in Utah during last summer's Lollapalooza, will play the E Center on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $28.50 at all SmithsTix outlets or by calling 467-8499 or 1-800-888-8499 or online at www.smithstix.com.
Keenan, bassist Jeordie Osbourne White, drummer Josh Freese and guitarists Billy Howerdel and James Iha are on tour supporting the band's second CD, "Thirteenth Step." The album, which has gone gold selling more than 500,000 copies since its September release, features the tracks "Weak and Powerless" and "The Outsider."
Opening the show will be Mars Volta, featuring former At the Drive-In vocalist Cedric Zavala, guitarist Omar Rodriguez, drummer Jon Theodore, bassist Juan Alderete and keyboardist Isaiah Owens. The band's debut, a concept album titled "De-Loused in the Comatorium," is about a man in a coma.
