A Perfect Circle back to play at the E Center

Vocalist Maynard James Keenan's other band will make a return engagement to Salt Lake City next week. The Tool vocalist's other band A Perfect Circle, which played in Utah during last summer's Lollapalooza, will play the E Center on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Keenan, bassist Jeordie Osbourne White, drummer Josh Freese and guitarists Billy Howerdel and James Iha are on tour supporting the band's second CD, "Thirteenth Step." The album, which has gone gold — selling more than 500,000 copies — since its September release, features the tracks "Weak and Powerless" and "The Outsider."

Opening the show will be Mars Volta, featuring former At the Drive-In vocalist Cedric Zavala, guitarist Omar Rodriguez, drummer Jon Theodore, bassist Juan Alderete and keyboardist Isaiah Owens. The band's debut, a concept album titled "De-Loused in the Comatorium," is about a man in a coma.
