MIAMI (AP) A father was charged with negligence in the death of his 3-year-old son, who shot himself while playing with a gun he found in the man's car.
Prosecutors said Travis Jenkins Sr., 26, improperly stored the gun, which his son found near the driver's side floorboard of the car Jan. 19. Jenkins was outside the car talking to a friend when the boy picked up the gun and it fired.<
Travis Jenkins Jr., who was wounded in the forehead, died three days later.
