PROVO Brigham Young University officials turned away hundreds of people Wednesday night when an unexpected crowd of more than 1,000 showed up at the Museum of Art for a lecture on the novel, "The Da Vinci Code," by Dan Brown.
Organizers initially expected 50 people but prepared for 750 as evidence mounted during the day of great interest in religion professor Eric Huntsman's lecture, "Mary Magdalene, Biblical Enigma."
The lecture was the first in a series called "The Da Vinci Code: Mystery, Metaphor and Meaning, LDS Perspectives on The Da Vinci Code."
Anderson said museum officials will consider larger venues for the two remaining lectures.
