Hannah Storm is taking off the makeup to educate viewers about birthmarks.

Storm, a host on CBS's "The Early Show," has routinely applied heavy makeup to cover up a birthmark under her left eye. The purplish mark is often referred to as a port wine stain.

Through the years, Storm went through painful, unsuccessful attempts to get rid of it. She had procedures to try and cut it out, to place a tattoo on top of it and to burn it off.

Now she's done a report, airing today on "The Early Show," to alert parents that such birthmarks can be an early indicator of diseases for which their children should be screened, and to show how laser surgery can remove them.

But Storm isn't so sure she wants to have her birthmark removed now, especially since she told her daughter the mark "is where the angel kissed me."

"It's just not at the top of my priority list right now," she said.
