North Logan woman is Mother of Year
Roderick is the mother of six children. She was part of the Reagan for President campaign staff and was appointed to the federal agency that oversees volunteer programs such as the Peace Corps. She also chaired the federal task force for the International Youth of the Year in 1985.
When her first child was born, she left her full-time professional career to be a mother at home. She is now president of Roderick Communications, a public relations firm, a former PTA president and current co-chairwoman of USU/Community Associates, an organization that fosters good relations between Utah State University and the community.
Christie Marker of North Ogden was named Young Mother of the Year. She has an 18-month-old daughter and is expecting a second child. She served an 18-month mission for the LDS Church. Besides community involvement and positions in the LDS Church, Marker is president of the North Ogden Chapter of American Mothers.
