The Center for Digital Government has recognized Utah's state government Web site, www.utah.gov, as "Best in Breed" and a "Successful Public-Private Partnership."
The national research and advisory institute on information technology in government and education sponsored the two studies, titled the "2003 Best of the Web, Best in Breed Report" and "Essential Partnerships: A Guide to the Successful Creation of Public-Private Partnerships." The latter examines the relationships between government entities and their information technology suppliers.
Utah's was named the country's top state government Web site for 2003. At the end of the year, the site contained more than 100 interactive applications, hosted 76,000 unique page visits per day and processed an average of 183,000 online transactions a month.
The site is a collaborative effort between the state and Salt Lake City-based Utah Interactive, a wholly owned subsidiary of NIC that built the site and markets, operates and maintains it.
